I make that Katy is now GB ranked number 14 and, more importantly, only one win away from making it into the top 600 (which will have been a VERY swift passage through the 600s)
She is, though I think her win last week already ensured the GB number 14 bit (the WTA tiebreaks remain a bit of a dark art, but I think she will be just ahead of Mel next Monday) - another win would make her GB no. 13 ahead of Lucy on Monday week and would probably be enough for a place in the top 600, but I think there are still more tournaments than at the same time list year so it might still be touch and go as it was when she looked to have done enough to make the top 700 only to miss out (albeit very temporarily) by a couple of places.
L16: Harriet Dart UNR v (3) Klaartje Liebens (BEL) WR 503 (CH 501 last week)
H2H 0-2 - 8-6 in a 3rd set tiebreak in a junior event in Japan in 2012 then 3 & 3 in Manchester last month.

Good stuff by Katy. Fair chance she could get to GB no 12 by season end ( would actually do so if she wins the tournament this week, maybe if she reached the final ).
Then big gap in rankings to Emily, the GB no 11, and further gap to Amanda who rounds out the GB top 10. She is though certainly currently showing signs that she can bridge such gaps in 2014.
Irbe is 25 years old and has never been ranked but once reached a 10K SF - that was back in 2006 though.
If I've understood Katy's last tweet correctly, it looks like she just found out that her grandfather died yesterday. Very sad news and whether that will affect the rest of the week or not (whether it means she leaves early or it inspires her to even greater efforts - who knows, everyone deals with things like that in their own way) remains to be seen.

Katy may already have done enough to make the top 600 (she has overtaken Lucy Brown, currently WR 598, with her win today) but could do with another win to make sure.
H2H 1-0 - Katy beat the South African 3 & 2 in South Africa at a junior event in Potchefstroom in 2011. Hattingh (14 months younger than Katy) beat the 2nd seed 3 & 3 in R1 here though, so is likely to be much more of a challenge than her first two opponents.
