1-4* second set. Losing 6 of your first 9 service games in a men's match is never going to get the job done. Slightly unusual for Ed who has a solid serve, without it ever being a real weapon.
Shame for Ed and shame that we're 0 out of 3 for finals this week (especially as it's all men's - in the women's it really doesn't make much difference point-wise if you lose the final or even the semi).
BUT brilliant to at least have three players in the finals !

If only we could see what's actually happening!!
Apparently it was very windy.
@johnnyparkes1: "@GBtennis extremely tough conditions out here in turkey is why. Winds up to 40mph"

Account from Ed's facebook confirms the conditions
Unfortunately I was second best today. Went down to Mirza Basic (BIH) ranked 267, 75 64. For the first time this week it was blowing a gale today. We both scrapped and net rushed as best we could but overall he served and returned more consistently and aggressively than I did. Staying here for one more tournament next week. Will be looking to build on some good work this week!
The new rankings have just come out and Ed has dropped 3 places to 312 - his points total next Monday is enough for WR 297 in the 9 Dec list but another week of similar overall movements among players around 300 could mean he just misses out on a top 300 place. He could do with a decent run next week to if he wants to make absolutely sure that he ends the year with a 2 at the start of his ranking.
