RE: Week 49 - Qatar F3 ($10,000) - Doha (hard)

Luke and Evan win their QF 7-6 6-0

They now play Liam and Scott in the semis so that's a GB finalist guaranteed . . .

Seeming like a good end of the year for the younger Brits, hopefully they can build on this in 2014

I think you are right. Liam may well pip this one......in general the draw sheet seems to have been decimated, so there will be a very good chance for the winner of the all-Brit SF to go all the way to the final or even win the tournament. I'd like to think that every time Oli enters a $10k tournament (I'm assuming Kyle will now avoid $10ks in 2014 unless he suffers a setback/injury), he will be thinking in terms of winning it, and Liam and Luke shouldn't be too far behind this in terms of their thinking............I could easily see one of our boys winning 2 of the 3 weeks in Qatar.

Er - yeah, 100% is a very good chance!

I want Luke to win this match - even if it means Bob will have to wait another week for Liam to break into the top 500

Liam takes an early lead in the second set 3-0*.

Luke only winning 15% points behind his second serve so far

Update: Luke responded by holding and breaking back but then Liam broke again *4-2

But then.. Luke broke back again and held after two long games so *4-4

Back and forth, back and forth which way is it going to go...

Congrats to Liam on finally cracking that top 500.

Now to go on and win the tournament.

Yes, well done to Liam. He actually hasn't spent much time in the 500s, having first cracked the top 600 in September.

Hopefully, that should mean 17 in the top 500 at year end, although might still be quite tight with I believe more tournaments late on this year. Tom Farquharson will now be GB no 17 on 72 points ( I think declared ).
