RE: Week 49 - Qatar F3 ($10,000) - Doha (hard)

Wow, what a comeback from 3-5 down in the decider.

From in complete control, to getting pegged back, then serving for the match only to get broken back and see the match levelled up, then a break down in the decider, only to come roaring back winning the last four games to snatch a win from the jaws of defeat.

Sounds like quite a rollercoaster..

Evan up shortly as the match before has just finished. Another rollercoaster?

Lots of breaks so far. More break than holds to be precise.

But Schutt is serving for the set at 4-5*

Yet another break and Evan takes the first set 7-5

That makes 7 breaks in 12 games. Guessing it is another windy day.

Evan fought back from 4-2 down in the second set to level at 4-4 but then got broken again.

Schutt to serve for the set at at 4-5* just as he did in the first set. And we all know what happened there. Vamos Evan.

Isn't that the 5th time he has broken back in the match? I'm not sure if that's extremely impressive (it certainly is a bit ) or an indictment on both their serves LOL

Anyway, he's about to receive for the match ...

In both sets Schutt served at *5-4 but each time Evan won three games on the trot.

Full house in Qatar. Top stuff.

Great to get home from work to find that Evan made it four out of four!

Scott gets a double dose of Goldsteiner:

QF: (1) Liam Broady & Scott Clayton CR 1075 (454+621) vs Peter Goldsteiner & Skander Mansouri (AUT/TUN) CR 1896 (1305+591)

An interesting coincidence... in three of the four major tournaments held in Qatar this year (i.e. Doha and the three Futures), two wild cards have faced off in the first round. Something this complex is beyond my abilities, so someone please tell me what's the probability of this happening in 3/4 events?

(Just a reminder: ATP Doha awards just 3 WCs, unlike the Futures).

And well played, Luke Skywalker.
