Week 48 - Turkey F47 ($10,000) - Antalya - Kaya-Belek (hard)

Ahh, the vagaries of ATP rankings... Marcus was ranked 346th with 118 points on 14.10.2013. Come Monday, he'll have 122 points, but he'll be ranked outside the top 350.

It's just because there have been more tournaments in the second half of this year than there were last year, hence more points to share out.

So it sounds like it wasn't just Obry having one of his 'on' days - surprised Dave finished the match if he hurt himself but (from the little one can tell from a tweet) he doesn't sound too concerned, so hopefully it's nothing major that will affect next year.

Dave's take on the match etc

Not to be in my last tournament of the year got moved to clay and rolled my ankle. Been good year tho.

Oh, what a shame. It's true that Dave's technique is not at all suited to clay - has he withdrawn from the doubles ?

Not on the evidence at the moment:   he & Satral are showing on tomorrow's OoP.

Still in the OoP but ITF implies he's withdrawn - no 'retired' result actually marked but the others are highlighted in the winners' colour font.

Hope it's OK . . .. cry

No, it's not:  the Dutch/Serb combo has been handed a walkover. cry

Actually, I meant hope his ankle's OK :)

I gathered from ITF that they'd withdrawn (which also makes sense, pleased to see it, no point risking aggravating it).

But a shame to go into your off-season with an injury so hope it's nothing serious.

Well, it's a shame Dave turned his ankle but Julien Obry has waltzed through the draw, winning the title 6-0 6-2, after winning the semis 6-0 6-1 and the other matches were pretty much the same . . .
