2-1 mini-break to Gaspar

no aces, no DFs, either player, in one LONG match . . .

So sad for Scott - loses the tb 7-4.

But he's young and has significantly less experience than the Portuguese guy (who's also young, of course). I've been impressed with Scott's results this autumn - easy wins against many weaker or similar ranked players and some tight losses against 'better' ones. It bodes well.

Meanwhile, George was 0-3 up but it's now 4-4

Yes, he must be gutted but it looks encouraging overall - Gaspar Murta would have been a career best ranking scalp by some distance.

Another R2 crash from George, by the looks of it (last time I looked, he was 3-1 up in the 1st set, now he's 4-6 *0-5 down )

I'm pleased for the Irishman (if we think the LTA area a bit stingy with their help, well, the Irish federation seem almost invisible!) but George does seem to be terribly inconsistent - no rhyme nor reason that one can see for some of the scores . . . .

But it's still a lot better than it was a few months ago so still going in the right direction.

And looking forward to seeing more from Myles and Scott too . . .

From Scott:

Tough tough tough loss to take that one. Had chances and played well. Fly to Doha tomorrow for my last trip of the year. #itscoming

Pity, but that's two successive weeks of a bit of a downer from George after very good looking R1 wins. So difficult to know what to make of it.
