Good stuff all round, with Marcus one win away from his minimum target of 6 points, Liam one win away from the top 500 and Oli continuing on in good mode after last week.

Indeed, Liam is in a great position to advance further with just 6 points to defend by Wimbledon next year.

All three are pretty well set up for next year with the points that they have bagged post Wimbledon this year.

Post Wimbledon points ( incl 2 so far this week ) are : Marcus 78, Liam 61 and Oli 53.

Currently, WR 400 is 96 points and WR 300 is 146 points, so I think it reasonable to think all 3 can make the top 400 based on the year up to and including Wimbledon 2014 and indeed look towards the top 300. Marcus, in particular, would be well on the way if he won the title this week, and be looking further than that.

Before somebody else answers (smile), just to clarify that Marcus is already top 400 of course (currently WR 356).

Indeed, and Marcus is very well positioned indeed to still be top 400 in the year to Wimbledon ( he would already practically reach the currently required 96 points if he wins the title this week ) and we know his ambitions are much higher.

Apologies if my wording suggested otherwise.

Oli up 3-0* in the second

Liam couldn't recover the break 4-6

Liam has lost the first set 6-4. Nothing to really choose between them though. One BP each. Cacic took his but Liam didn't.

Still no reason why Liam can't come back.

Oli now 3-0* up in the 2nd.

Two through to the semis, one down in the quarters. cry  Liam loses 4 & 4; 0% to 100% BP conversion. hmm

But sadly Liam loses out today 6-4 6-4

Not a bad performance. Just three BPs in the entire match. Cacic took 2/2 while Liam was 0/1. In terms of actual points won, Cacic won that battle 55 to 54. So one of those matches that could really have gone either way.

No. The match is carried over from yesterday. Marcus/Lewis were 2-3* down when the rains came.

That makes sense.

Bob - looks like you are going to have to wait a little while longer for Liam to break into the top 500.
