Shamael Chaudhry has claimed three titles in the last fortnight in the Middle East, and has moved to Bangladesh for a couple of tournaments, where he is one win away from another title (he lost in the semis in doubles)
R2 (L32)
(1) Shamael Chaudhry (GBR) d. Christian Cummings (IND) 6-2 6-2
R3
(1) Shamael Chaudhry (GBR) d. (LL) Yoga Argi Syahputra (INA) 6-3 4-6 6-2
A very close final, but Shamael prevails to claim his second successive singles title
F
(1) Shamael Chaudhry (GBR) d. (13) Tin Chen (TPE) 6-4 1-6 7-6(5)
All good stuff, but for a a little perspective Shamael is 17 and a half, and his opponents were 15, 14, 16, 16 (only just!) and 15 - after all this was a Grade 5 event. As per another thread, we should be looking at the progress of the Finn Bass and Max Stewart generation with as much if not more interest - 2-3 years of extra power and experience trumps talent/skill at this age, but these younger boys are not being embarrassed by their older/stronger opponents - reasons to be optimistic.
