Fantastic week for Mel South and also for Karen Paterson.

I'll find some info on Melanie in a minute. A couple of years ago, she was one of the brightest British hopes for the future.

What happened to Katie O'Brien though, in the quarters ?

Does anyone have the URL for Melanie's website ? Is it kept up-to-date regularly ?

See my note above.  Mel has a great web site, interacts with fans etc.  I was very impressed.

Re Katie O`Brien, I found this on another site:

"From what I've seen of Pavlovic, I think she's got a very bright future, and may well be a little too good for Katie. Seems Katie and Claire have reached plateaus at which their level is comfortable. While both are more than capable of going higher than they are it's going to be tough. The last 18 months have been the 'easy' part - breaking through, few points to defend, no-one knows who you are, now is the critical stage. So many of our girls never get out of this phase and give up disillusioned, but am hoping Katie and Claire can at least make the step up to their next respective levels. It's harder to move up the rankings quickly at this stage but as long as they go in the right direction it's better than grinding to a standstill.
