Naomi 5-4* - no breaks so far but NB has had 4 bps, all in a single return game. 7 aces out of 29 service points for NB.

Naomi gets to set point but it is saved. Another chance. Taken (1/6 on bps now). Think it may have been a df. 6-4. NZ has 6 aces out of 37 service points

Naomi saves her first bp at the start of the 2nd set. Her first df in that game but still manages to hold 1-0*

Naomi is *2-5 down in the 3rd and has just saved at least 1 match point

Naomi had a single break point in 3 of Zander's service games in the final set, but despite saving a couple of match points at *25 she comes out the wrong end of a 46 76(4) 63 loss :(

Shame, 16 aces not enough on the day.

For those who like to follow the whole gambit of our the GB players' tennis activity, just to mention that Naomi managed to get herself to Clermont Ferrand last Sunday and play her team match (in division 1A)

She played as number two (four singles in total) and won 6-0 6-0 (against a not very highly ranked girl, but nonetheless). And then teamed up with the number one player to make the first doubles team (two doubles matches) and won 6-1 6-1

The next match is tomorrow - will see if she plays

NB Tara is a new signing for the same club and in the team - in theory I'd expect her to play (Lisa is still a member too but obviously injured).

Unfortunately Naomi lost her singles match in three sets against Buzarnescu but Naomi (and Magda Linette) won their doubles match in a MTB which was important because it meant that the two teams tied 3-3

It's the French league team matches, division 1A.

There are only half a dozen league or so matches and I obviously didn't want to start a new thread coz it's not GB tennis really but, as Naomi is playing, some people like to know what the players are doing in their other matches so I put it here.

Naomi lost a match she should have won five times over - losing 6-4 3-6 6-4 to WR 1008 Danielle Harmsen from the Netherlands
But again won her doubles with Linette to give a 3-3 tied result for her team
