RE: Week 46 - Greece F19 ($10,000) - Heraklion (hard)

Ah thanks, I must have missed that one. Good they seem to be shaking off their early troubles and presumably feeling more comfortable and playing better.

Meanwhile in the doubles, Liam & Hilts are 5-2 up. But why is their nationality shown as "null".

Marcus & Lewis also 2-0 up.

Yeah, isn't it just ! smile

As a couple of other people have said, I'm particularly pleased that Luke has managed to string together a few wins and hope that puts him on the right path. He's got a nice game and he's been a bit 'tag-along-Charlie' to the others this year. May they all be our next lot of 500-ers for Bob's challenge !

Deja vu for Oli. Goes 5-0 up and then gets broken when serving for the set/match

 Calm, zen . . . wink

Being that far ahead, he probably went for some second serve aces - the right time to try them out.

This year was a long shot and in truth, I think we came a lot closer than many of us expected.  Next year however, I am quietly confident, especially with the apparent return to form of Dan S and Josh M, who were looking to be heading in the wrong direction until this week.

Plenty of potential young guns to fill those last couple of places during the course of next year.

Oli finishes off Malouli 6-2 6-1

So wanted to put the Headline "British Teenagers on Rampage in Greece" but Oli has spoiled that one by being 20.

But a fabulous day for the young guns. And if Marcus comes out of it without suffering further injury, I will take that as well.

Apparently the 7th seed has gone out as well, leaving only 1 seeded player in the semis - and that is Liam biggrin

I wonder if we are now seeing a completely "injury-free" Oli for the first time this season. He is really starting to show some good form.

Somebody else, I think, (or maybe you?) also made this point a few pages back and I thought - yes, really good point. There was something he said in an interview too that suggested that he'd been playing/training in pain or discomfort for quite some time.

If that's all sorted out and behind him then that's one of the best bits of news we've heard for a while.

And I'm so glad he's currently showing Malouli what for - the French guy is really not that amazing.

6-2 to Oli.

I think it was probably me. I did say something similar last week.  I know - sounding like a broken record.

Maybe in that respect the hernia issue was actually a blessing in disguise, allowing the other parts of the body which were still hurting a little to fully recover.

Very impressive so far, bar a somewhat hobbled Marcus.

Of course, with Liam and Mark well on the way to winning their doubles, you'd also have to "British Teenagers AND GRANDAD on Rampage in Greece".

Mark's 32 - bless him - he must feel like the Wise Old Owl out there smile
