Didn't even realise they had started. Had to refresh livescores for it to come up.

A win for Luke here would offset the 6 pointer he has coming off soon and equally importantly, guarantee us at least one GB finalist.

Good stuff generally.

There is much that I could say regarding Marcus, but I'll pass.

Glad you posted that Bob, i was totally confused as to where we were up to. Are all the QF due to be played today? I don't see any more games on livescore other than Oli at the moment.

Refresh your live scores like I had to.  Luke is a set and 5-2* up.

Oli has just opened with a break.

I don't know if A1 is paying attention to this, but you will have to be careful with what you say before a match. I looked at the odds on Malouli and they were darn good. I was tempted to clean up, but did not want to get anyone into trouble. Please do not be as open with this sort of info before the match. Sorry to be the messenger of doom, but this has the potential to hurt Marcus in the future if the situation happens again.

It's an interesting point and, to be fair to A1, it was Marucs' tweet right after his match that first alerted everybody to the fact that he was injured. And, as tweets are public, anyone and everyone could have read it (including Malouli, if he didn't know already). So certainly no insider dealing possible problems (and, yes, the forum is public too).

Marcus should realise that nearly all top players only divulge news of their injuries after they lose their match (whichever one it is they finally lose). It seems a lot more sensible, for many reasons.

I doubt you get into trouble for taking into account information given out in a public tennis forum ! It's certainly not insider dealing. Should have gone for it, chavkev.

While clearly in many ways good for us, I agree that whether this forum should be learning so much is rather questionable.

If I were managing someone I'd say as little as possible, without being rude or evasive.

Me too but, as per previous post, it was really Marcus who let the cat out of the bag with his instant post-match tweet about his knee. Once that was said, the rest was just the normal follow-on stuff.

I wonder if we are now seeing a completely "injury-free" Oli for the first time this season. He is really starting to show some good form.

Somebody else, I think, (or maybe you?) also made this point a few pages back and I thought - yes, really good point. There was something he said in an interview too that suggested that he'd been playing/training in pain or discomfort for quite some time.

If that's all sorted out and behind him then that's one of the best bits of news we've heard for a while.

And I'm so glad he's currently showing Malouli what for - the French guy is really not that amazing.

6-2 to Oli.

Three GB players in the semis would be very nice - esp for a foreign futures.

I think it was probably me. I did say something similar last week.  I know - sounding like a broken record.

Better to make the same excellent point twice than one daft one once ! (which I'm probably doing here . . .)

Liam showing some very solid form, beginning to build a very strong ranking base. Next year, injuries permitting, could be very special.

I get that feeling too, IF (and it's a big IF) Liam can develop a BIG serve. At the moment various match reports suggest he has a lot of skill, but that he isn't the most powerful from the baseline. That will improve, but his serve needs to get MUCH more powerful to stand much of a chance at a higher level.

Being a lefty will always help though, and assuming the shoulder/arm problem sorts itself out, there can only be upside, so I'm confident this won't hold him back.

That sounds like the interview I posted a while back but that was about Liam. Either way its a shame both have had their season hampered by injury.

I remember the Liam one you posted, which was very good, but it was a website, written one that I remember (pretty sure) where Oli mentioned, very fleetingly, that it had been hard to train properly or feel quite right.

meanwhile, Oli's racing through, 4-0 up. And Liam and Mark are 4-1 up in their doubles.
