I'm a bit confused here. If Marcus is injured, and with a critically important winter training block looming, who an earth is advising him to play a singles match he is unlikely to win (with the injury) and which risks him significantly worsening the problem......potentially putting his training block at risk. After a super season, and with his form on the wane (probably given the glut of matches) playing additional 2 Futures tournaments looked like a strange decision, even if fully fit. But surely there's no point winning this minor battle against the odds, if it scuppers his chances of winning the war. I just don't get it.

I am with you on this one. And even if Marcus turns the match around and manages to force the win, I still don't believe it was worth the risk.

We're all singing from the same hymn sheet over this one Supposedly he;s only there (primarily) for the doubles so why not just do the doubles ? He'd have another singles match today even if he were to win this one. And the doubles of course.
However, he complained of back problems before and then went on to play more matches - maybe it's not as bad as all that.
Very nice win for Mr Golding. Mr Willis now down 5-6 in the second with Mr Malouli serving. Like others, while wishing Mr Willis very well, I would be more concerned were he to win this match than were he to lose it.
