Luke has his big 6-pointer coming off in two weeks which will hit his ranking (unless he can magic up something here). But he seems to have had a reasonable autumn, consistently clocking up a point or two in most tournaments. And he's only played 12 tournaments this year, unlike Liam, say, who's played 19, or Toby Martin who's played 21. Don't know why only 12 . . .

Ahh cool. Obviously he's not done just yet (He said in an lta video he was going to Qatar), but hopefully he can have a good winter, stay healthy and forge ahead next year focused fully on the pro circuit.

He was technically still a junior this year. I can't actually remember without looking but did he play some other junior events earlier in the year as well as the slams. Maybe that's why?

That's a shocker for Lewis - maybe he is more in need of the off-season than even Marcus. Still, I guess he's here mainly for the doubles, and 4 in R2 isn't too bad!
L32: (3) Marcus Willis WR 357 beat (Q) Vadym Ursu (UKR) UNR (16yo junior WR 204) by 4 & 5 L32: Oli Golding WR 575 beat (WC) Dominik Kellovsky (CZE) WR 1609 (CH 1569 in Apr) by 1 & 2 L32: Luke Bambridge WR 860 beat (WC) Denny Fafek USA UNR (24yo never ranked) by 7-5 4-6 6-1 L32: (8) Liam Broady WR 531 beat (Q) Dimitri Bretting (SUI) WR 1113 (CH 1096 in Sep) by 4 & 1 L32: Lewis Burton WR 767 lost to (Q) Shotaro Goto (JPN) WR 1918 (CH 1852 in Jul) by 1 & 2
L16: (3) Marcus Willis WR 357 v Laurent Malouli (FRA) WR 689 (CH 571 in Apr) L16: Oli Golding WR 575 v (5) Adrien Bossel (SUI) WR 460 (CH 317 in 2012) L16: Luke Bambridge WR 860 v (4) Dimitar Kuzmanov (BUL) WR 446 (CH 428 in Oct) L16: (8) Liam Broady WR 531 v (SE) Evgeny Karlovskiy (RUS) WR 967 (= CH)
Malouli reached the SFs here a couple of weeks ago, upsetting Dan Cox on the way.
Karlovskiy was the qualifier who beat Luke in the QFs last week but Liam will have good memories of playing him - he beat him 6-2 4-6 6-1 in the final of Roehampton juniors back in 2011

May well be completely unconnected (and it's east to be 'clever' with 20/20 hindsight) but a while ago, when talking about Marcus, I commented that the sports physios I know say that the main problem with being slightly overweight is the risk of injury, in particular to the back and knee. Since then Marcus has had some back problems and now:
Marcus Willis ‏@Willbomb90 12m
Got the win but knee not looking in great shape! Lots of ice and see how tomorrow goes. #hobble #sending #senderos
Good luck to him and, as I say, maybe completely unconnected, but it all raises some questions - he could just have done the doubles here if loyalty to Lewis demanded it. A bit of rest and then a couple of months fitness regime is really what would do that man the most good in the long term (and maybe in the short term too).
And Oli and Luke lost the first set 6-0 (!!) but came back to in their doubles match 0-6 6-4 10-1
