BS, opposite way round to Steven, I saw most of the first set up till the last two games. But it was the same - Quigley played poorly (really poorly at times) and Ed was striking the ball cleanly, nice depth on his forehand, solid serving - nothing too amazing but all very much getting the job done.

I saw "BS, opposite way round to Steven" and thought you were an American telling me you thought I was talking rubbish I'm glad our impressions from opposite ends of the match agree!
Ed could be within a win of the top 300 now, though with one win it would be touch and go - he needs 2 more to make certain.

I think that's GBP 500 for Ed. (as well as the same for Josh and Dan S and 300 for George - expensive tournament for the LTA - and good !!! Let's hope it carries on).

Well, Ed was supposed to win this, but it's good to see him winning in any case. It's impossible to predict with any sort of certainty on a Tuesday, but another win here may just take him to the top 300.
Fantastic win for Dan (a career best scalp, taking over from the win against Reynolds in R1 here last year) to finish off an amazing R1 for the Brits!

Crepaldi reached the semis at Edgbaston Futures last month & upset top seed Smyczek in R1.
Nevolo upset 6th seed de Voest in R1 and beat Ed 6-3 6-7(3) 6-0 in Mansfield, Texas last month.
Still, we can't ask for much more than 4 Brits in R2 with at least 3 playing opponents ranked outside the top 500 for a place in the quarter-finals!
