Well done George. Nice to have something to take away from the US tour - and the Josh match will be interesting.

Here's hoping Dave & Sean can repeat their Charlottesville heroics in Champaign:

R1:  (4) James Cluskey & Maximilian Neuchrist (IRL/AUT) CR 311 (154+157) vs David Rice & Sean Thornley CR 416 (210+206)

Ed & Dan in the MD without having to attempt to qualify this week:

R1:  Bjorn Fratangelo & Filip Peliwo (USA/CAN) CR v1330 (715+615) vs Ed Corrie & Dan Smethurst CR 1036 (591+445)

Sadly, the winners of the above matches face one another in the quarter-final. hmm

And George has put himself in for the doubles qualifying.

George C and Dennis Novikov v Fares Ghasya and Dennis Nevolo

Doubles qualies with the "stats":

QR1:  (WC) Fares Ghasya & Dennis Nevolo (LBA/USA) CR 2072 (1609+463) vs (q2) George Coupland & Dennis Novikov (USA) CR 1885 (676+1209)

QR1:  (WC) Fares Ghasya & Dennis Nevolo (LBA/USA) CR 2072 (1609+463) defeated (q2) George Coupland & Dennis Novikov (USA) CR 1885 (676+1209) by 2-6 6-3 [10-5] cry

Don't suppose it'll be any consolation, but the q1s didn't survive, either. hmm

Dan finally sees it through to the MD with a 6-2 6-4 victory

Will those 3 points be enough to see him in the top 500 at the end of the year ?  On 69 YTD points, that is right on the cusp. Let's hope there are more points to come so that there is no doubt.

Didn't Zivkovic play Ward earlier this year? Remember wondering how on earth he was so highly ranked (at the time about 300 I think). Honestly think I have better groundstrokes than him. Decent serve and very little else.

There's a real full-house today:

First Dan S.
then josh v George
then Ed
then Dave and Sean in the doubles

Ed's match has started.

Let's hope he can hit the ground Corriendo and get this match over with Quigley.

Apologies to all non-Spanish speakers.

Nice to see him getting some wins recently, ending the year positively

Yes, and by my reckoning that win will take him to a new CH of about WR 305, which is exciting.

PS re below: Oops, no sorry steven - my 'BS' definitely stood for 'Bright Spark' !

But who is going to snaffle up the other 3 pointer.

George and Josh at 1-1 in the 1st set. Early days.

Fun to watch George doing the old school constant serve and volley game . . .

You obviously aren't using the USTA sreaming as that is showing the other court. Other streams tend not to work for me cry

Josh now 5-2* up

The drakula stream seems to serve me quite well (from castasap on the stream hunter) - doesn't always come up but quite good when it does.
