QR2: (q3) Josh Milton WR 583 beat (wc) Bruno Abdel Nour (SYR) UNR 6-1 6-3

So if George C can make it through his match, we will be guaranteed at least 1 qualifer.

If on their game, both could make the 2nd round here obviously but, I'd fancy Ed to go further and make the quarters. Gut feeling, always the kiss of death!

QR2: (q8) George Coupland WR 820 beat Cameron Silverman (USA) WR 1809 (CH 1607 in Jul) by 7-6(4) 4-6 7-5

FQR: (q1) Dan Smethurst WR 485 v (q7) Denis Zivkovic (USA) WR 801 (CH 292 in Mar)
FQR: (q3) Josh Milton WR 583 v (q8) George Coupland WR 820

Zivkovic seems to have plummeted over 500 places in just 8 months despite playing for much of that period.

George is up a very early break. Would be nice if they could ALL win at least one match . . . . . (if not three . . . .)

That would be quite a feat given that Josh and George are due to meet in the next round. wink

well, yes, Senor Nickerty-Nit-Picky (now, what's that in Spanish smile ???) - OK, ALL win one match and SOME win three  . . .

actually, just like to avoid a third set for Georgie if one could . . .

NB does anyone know why this Challenger is so much weaker than the others?

Signed : Crabby person who's just the elderly Mother-in-Law on the phone for the last 15 minutes . . . .

and he does. George wins 7-5 and guarantees a GB main draw player and earns a cheque from the LTA
