And Mr Smethurst loses the battle royal. First set gone 5-7. On the positive side, J P Smith and Mr Peliwo had combined to take a total of three games from Mr Sandgren in the first and QF rounds ... so Mr Smethurst has already bettered that.

I can't believe that Dan the Man is playing SO well, given how poor (presumably) he's been playing these last few months (presumably i.e. based on the results, not having seen the matches).

What has suddenly clicked ? He's got some great tennis.
