This is the first time 4 Brits have made it to R2 of the same Challenger since Jamie Baker, Alex Ward, Josh Milton (again) & Dan Cox all survived R1 in Astana in August 2011.

As usual, you manage to answer my question before I even ask it.
Headline News - LTA declared Bankrupt after the exploits of the FAB 4 in Champaign.
biggest smile all day !
By my calculations, that's 3,000 quid in bonuses already - Dan & Josh 1,000 each and Ed & Dave 500 each. And on top of that, they have all earned over 500 quid each in prize money.
Nice work if you can get it.
And 300 pounds to George C too ! Brilliant - am hoping the cheque writer at the LTA office is getting Repetitive Strain Syndrome in their right hand
NB would be interested to hear from someone to know how Dan S 'normally' plays. Not as well, I assume ? (stating the obvious). First time I've seen him on a decent livestream - do you think he knew he was on livestream and thought, now's the moment, 'my public' awaits ? Someone said his serve is usually very inconsistent - which, on the face of it, would seem strange because he's got a a good, quite simple, well-balanced action. Anyway, cracking game from him.

Great stuff by Dan. Not had a good year since reaching his CH of WR 331 in October last year. But hopefully gets a lot of confidence from this well fought CH win. And he's just turned 23 last month, so still definitely has time on his side, especially when one considers the marked progress just this year of the slightly older 1990ers, Evans, Cox and Willis.
Certainly on that showing he should not have been flirting with falling outside the top 500.
As Bob says, that should now guarantee 15 Brits in the top 500 at year end ( of these Tom F has the least guaranteed points on 72 ). And while we had hopes at one stage of hitting 20, 15 in itself would mark the most top 500ers at year end since 18 in 2005.

Still got the chance of Oli and Liam joining them - especially if they head off to Qatar with Luke after finishing in Greece.
I've got alot of time for Smethy, one of the real good guys on tour, and underrated by alot of people.
I think the move to be with Mark Taylor at Notts, has really paid off, and I'm looking forward to seeing a good run of form now.
Also well done to Ricey, Josh and Ed, spectacular stuff.
