There were a few Brits on the alternates list here but only one has turned up for qualifying:

QR1: Neil Pauffley WR 483 v (q6) Ivo Minar (CZE) WR 395 (CH 62 in 2009)

Edit: Looks like Dan Cox scraped into the main draw at the last minute.

Minar served for the first set at 3-5* but Neil broke back. Unfortunately though Minar breaks again to take the set 4-6

Onwards..

to play Swedish youngster Elias Ymer. (When I last looked he was 4-0 up in the final set of his match. But he just won in a tiebreak)

Bad news all round ...

QR2: Neil Pauffley WR 483 lost to Elias Ymer (SWE) WR 802 (CH 794 in Oct) by 6-2 1-6 6-3 bleh

L32: Dan Cox WR 247 v (3) Lukas Lacko (SVK) WR 74 (CH 44 in Jan)

They have met once before, at Sheffield Futures in 2009, when Lacko won 3 & 1.

 Maybe.

But young Elias is the son of the Ethiopian marathon runner so, if he's a chip off the old block, endurance stuff will not be a problem !!!
