Week 45 - Challenger ($50,000) - Knoxville, TN, USA (hard)

This was Ed's best win of the tour, and that tells you how poor he has been in the last few months. Anyway, he has to build on this and win a few more matches in the US this fall/winter.

Well, Salmon may have a good lead over Indiana in the "Race to 10000 posts", but there are certainly no favourites in the "Race to the Year End British No. 5".

*Corrie - 133
 *Rice - 126
Willis - 117
Edmund - 110
*Klein - 100
*AWard - 96
Hewitt - 94
Gabb - 87

About 148 points are required to get into the top 300.

Being a bit pernickety or actually correct LOL, Dave is just on 126 since he already had 18 counters, so although he has added 7 so far this week he also drops 1. His 18th counter will now be 3.

As for that other "race" Salmon referred to, I think this forum would benefit from some point by point posts during matches and I'm your man !

Boys, boys ....

As someone who left 10K behind long ago, I find high post milestones embarrassing, not targets to be aimed at! no

Still, I console myself by remembering how quickly Sheddie got to 18K - my posts per year frequency gets nowhere near what his must have been in the early years

Johnnylad was no slouch, either! He got to 7K posts in little more than 15 months....

Ed lost the first set 2-6 but is up a double break in the second. 3-0

Dave had break points at 5-5 but they were saved now serving to force a tiebreak. *5-6

David Rice's match is a very high standard. Very few errors, cheap points and some excellent rallies.
