Back to tennis A1 pairs next opponents

Scott clayton & Jonny O'Mara

If my Guys  play like did yesterday could be getting the train back instead of driving back with me on Friday !

Young bothwell was the sharper of the 2 juniors in the QF if they learnt to calm down they could have won the match but they were playing like the were both  on speed .

Stoute double faulted 4 times in 1 of his crucial service games .

Jonny and Scott get 3 MPs at 9-6* in the MTB

Marcus and Lewis save the first two but the young guns serve it out for 10-8

To sum up the semi in the top half of the draw:

SF:  (1) Lewis Burton & Marcus Willis CR 829 (406+423) defeated Scott Clayton & Jonny O'Mara CR 1958 (756+1202) by 6-2 3-6 [10-8]

Well fought, the youngsters!   Bet they're disappointed.

Sorry SC, but on MY live scores, the result is the other way around

SF:  (1) Lewis Burton & Marcus Willis CR 829 (406+423) LOST TO Scott Clayton & Jonny O'Mara CR 1958 (756+1202) by 6-2 3-6 [8-10]

Bomb said 1 bad game in 2nd set

But had bad line call to break back  .

I need my team to be that prepared in a futures to be that superior ( particulary in the absence of rice & Thornley ) that being on wrong side of a couple of line calls is totally irrelevant not excepting any excuses Because I witnessed yesterday's 1/4 final and were poor .

Doubles  Marcus & Lewis :

2013:

11 tournaments  5 titles  1 RU  3SF

So still very much on course for a wimbie WC in the 2nd but its like in business once you become successful you become an inspiration to others .

Good news Marcus will have a new PB doubles ranking when he's likely to climb above my doubles hero Jonas Bjorkman

 Good news Lewis & Marcus

2013 ( since July )

P 26 won 21 lost 5  81% win ratio

last 3 months

P 23 won 20 lost 3    87% win ratio

5 titles from 11 tournaments means projected

To win 11-12 titles in 2014 which would be a new GB futures record

If Marcus wants to play Futures all 2014, then sure.

No Scott & Jonny defeated bomb and burts and we thought we only had rice & Thornley to worry about .

But good news for A1 because scott has signed up for our Aegon team

Sorry, Bob, you're quite right.    I somehow misread the board!   Error in my post now rectified.

Biggest limitation is only allowed 2 750 ATP or better but we have 2 teams

You are forgiven - well by me anyway.

Jonny and Scott may have a different opinion wink

Should really open new thread elsewhere but next year Aegon men's national tier will have more ATP players than ever before and will be the most strongly tested GB Team title in the history of the Aegon men's team tennis & the NCL
