RE: Week 44 - Great Britain F23 ($10,000) - Edgbaston (hard)

Yes, Bob, I was thinking the same, that a little down time ( while still keeping in condition ) seems on the face of it a good idea, then get into a hopefully really productive training block.

i.e. not to simply replace any tournaments that were being considered with additional training, but at least initially some rest and recuperation.

I hope it all goes well for Marcus.

How about a not too strenuous week's walking holiday with some friends ( Lewis can go too ! ) somewhere ??

Looking good for Marzi who is now a set and a double break up against Chadaj at 6-4 *3-0

Jonny goes a break down in the 1st set after another long service game at 4-5*

JWH also a break down at 3-4*

Oops, Nearly forgot Clay. (Sorry Clay)

He lost the 1st set 6-1 to De Loore but is currently 2-2 in the 2nd.

Clay eventually loses to De Loore 6-1 6-3 but overall he has had a great week, coming through qualies and then getting his first ATP point on the board.

But COME ON Jonny.

He makes the break, converting his 4th Set point to take the match into a decider.

Not to be for Jonny as he goes down 6-2 in the decider. But another highly competitive performance against a top 500 player. Just get the feeling he is setting a really solid base for a good year in 2014.

Could well be that not a single Brit makes the last four.

Interesting to see Marsalek and Farquharson seemingly finding a bit of form (or were Liam and Luke just not re-accustomed after their stint in Israel?). Good to see Fitzy back and doing well - funny that he took out both of Gary's boys after Gary's comments yesterday. Wonder if he can take out Crepaldi? Perhaps has the best chance of making the SFs of the three.

Very disappointing to see just 3 GB players in the QF. Fitzy who isn't going to play regularly on tour and Marzi and Tom F who have been out of form for a while.

Not convinced any will get through.

Are just 3 Quarter-finalists in a GB Futures a low for 2013?
