I see that George is being given a bit of a tennis lesson by Grigelis (two breaks up) and that, despite the best efforts of the LTA/ATP/ITF Adam TB hasn't snuck in unnoticed to carry on his 'run' but Mr. Crepaldi has turned up and hopefully restored administrative order.
G is struggling with Grigekis and hard to see if anyone can stop him to be honest -
Marcus Could keep him a run run for his money if Could make the final & rise to the occasion .
I'm a fan of both guys, but I dare say Marcus can do more with the win. Come on, the Bomb.
M wins 1st set 6-2 but marcus misses several break point opportunities in 1st game of the 2nd , then gets broken Marcus 0-2 down in the 2nd and a fight back is on ! But M stays perfectly calm in contrast to last week & immediately breaks back then hols 6-2 2-2
What is this match telling me ? Marcus is more talented with the combination of touch & power but fitzy is very strong , fit and totally unfazed and very calm with a good game plan , and it's time to get into our winter training block prior to thebiggest year of his career so far !
Fitzy is as good as he was in Preston not because he's striking the ball any better but because he's calmer looking less pressured & it immediately pays off breaking M in 2nd set to go 2-0
It looks like going to a 3rd set Marcus Energy level dropped & F 5-2 up . Marcus looks tired match is screaming to me stop playing tournaments and into winter training block .
F serving 5-3 up M last chance break and given a sniff of a chance on first point but now 40-15 fitzy set point

Good news GM fighting back in the 2nd set v The GRIG

He's playing against a guy who hasn't played in months though so fitness should be an issue with Fitzy not with Big Bomb bomb

I believe that Fitzy has always prided himself on his fitness, doing what he can in often difficult circumstances to be all he can be.
I would be pretty surprised if he had not kept himself in good physical condition, with for me the likely concern being more match sharpness / hardness rather than physical fitness / endurance.
(1) Marcus Willis WR 353 lost to Andrew Fitzpatrick WR 668 - 6-2, 3-6, 4-6
(7) Erik Crepaldi (ITA) WR 516 (CH 515 in Aug) d (Q) Nicolas Rosenzweig (FRA) WR 1267 (CH 687 in 2012) 6-4, 6-4
James Marsalek WR 664 v Adam Chadaj (POL) WR 1130 (CH 202 in 2005), 2-1 (Marsalek up a break and serving)
(6/Q) Tom Farquharson WR 487 d Luke Bambridge WR 868 (hmmm. Score has disappeared, but I'm sure I saw the result before it went)
George Morgan WR 1034 lost to (2) Laurynas Grigelis (LTU) WR 369 (CH 183 in 2012) - 2-6, 5-7
First match looks to have been quite evenly matched, and well done to Mr Morgan for giving the obviously in-form Mr Grigelis a run for his money.
Sorry for Marcus, time to rest and train I would guess(?) Chuffed to bits for Fitzy, this can't be the end of his career surely..........its not done yet, its always too soon to quit!
As an aside, nice to see Tom F getting some wins again.

Sounds like a plan. But be a "nice guy", Gary, and give him a couple of weeks rest first
Marcus has had a great season and if fatigue is now a factor, with that comes the increased risk of injury. It would be a real downer if he were to now "tweak" something in the chase for a few more points and end up missing the chance for a good off season training block.
As a Fitzy fan, I am chuffed for him today, but I will be cheering as loud as anyone for Marcus next year.
