RE: Week 44 - ATP Masters 1000 Series: BNP Paribas Masters, Paris (indoor hard) - doubles

I was wondering when I saw the OoP if it was a cunning French plot to try to ensure that the first three pairs to go out would contain Brits - if so, it's going very much to plan so far

Doesn't quite work: Mannarino and Monfils went out yesterday ... but I was about to ask for conspiracy theories. Might the court have something that is kryptonite for Brits strategically located in the net poles?

Murray and Peers down a break in the first set, though they've just held for 3-2.

That's true, I forgot the all-French match they played yesterday.

Santiago González & Scott Lipsky (MEX/USA) d Jamie Murray & John Peers (AUS) CR 61 (32+29) 6-4, 7-5.

Has to go down as one of the most hope-dashing afternoons for British doubles of recent memory ... but the fact that there was so much riding on it is testimony to the excellent year the various players have had.

Super article about Dom Inglot, his tennis career, his academic career, his film career, his views about LTA funding . . .

Darn ! Court 2 - graveyard to GB's O2 doubles hopes

Pity at least one pair couldn't get there to culminate a great year.

Thanks, CD, for that article about Big Bad Dom or "Dom the Bomb".

I found his comments re funding and responsibility particularly interesting.

Thanks for the link. I loved the article, and agree with his funding attitude. Interesting that not having funding made him not waste time and money. I advocate that with all our players.
