Hmm, yes, a really Brit heavy third quarter. All I ask is that that quarter concludes with Brit vs Brit, please.

Great looking win that for Anna S. Less disappointed now LOL. Now would be really good if she can get a decent R1 draw and really get some points in.

Getting a bit ahead of myself. Still a FQR for Anna. But at least that's 4 points for winning QR2 and that will rise to 6 if she can win that FQR.

What has Mel South done to deserve a WC I think it should have went to a more promising younger player

Yes, scottie, korriban and I were thinking the same in the entries thread re Mel's WC.

Personally, I would have preferred that it had gone to the currently battling Lucy or Katy D.

They just gave the wildcards to the 4 next Brits on the entry list.

Well, they certainly don't always do that and there was no need to do it here. So I presume a bit of subjective thought went into the WC choice...

For someone totally out of form and Going down in the rankings I dont think it sends out a great message to the younger girls Mel South getting the WC I cant seeing her winning against the Junior World 3

Great result for anna and don't see Lucy's final result so:

Q2: DUNNE, Katy (GBR) 804 lost to BROWN, Lucy (GBR) 605 6-3 6-3

Presumably Lucy will be nicely inside the top 600 now

No suprise that Katy cannot keep up the levels of yesterday, i suspect that win took out a lot emotionally as well as physically.

Fantastic win for Anna - who cares if she keeps drawing top seeds, now she can beat them.

Would love it if we could get 1 girl through qualifying(didn't expect any)

For the main draw - hoping we can get at least three girls through, Hev, Joko and Tara. Anyone else would be a bonus. Naomi is in good form, but has had a very long trip that might take something out of her. Mel won't win, Jade at her best could.

Given their rankings and potential AO place at stake, the JoKo v Heather match would be huge if they both make it that far.

Hev won't move above JoKo in the rankings if she beats her in the QF unless she makes the final or wins. 22point gap and 20 points at stake in the QF plus Hev has more points as her 16th best.
