Katy won 10 games on the trot to lead 4-0 in the final set, but the Greek girl has found some form and it's back on serve 4*-5

Beth Askew had great chances to take the first set, including being 5-2 up in the tie break, but eventually lost 7-6 6-0

I suspect Katy should have won that match more comfortably, DF count was high.

Anyway after saying I couldn't see any GB players getting through qualifying, the bottom bracket has opened up and only Waccano stands in the way.

It's hard to see any Brits outside section 4 getting any further, but who'd have thought we'd get 7 players through today?! I know we had to get at least 4 through, but 5 would have been my best guess.

Career best ranking scalps too for Laura (since she won a set, it counts), India (the first ranked player she has beaten in seniors, I think) and Grace, and an excellent, if fraught win for Katy: "OMG my nerves are toast! Won the match at 5-2 in the 3rd, everyone clapped i yelled come on then the ref called it!!.... I then go 6-5 down and manage to win that game on about my 4th advantage! Then win the match 10-8 in the tie-break on my 5th match point!"

Anna breaks 5*-4. Serving for the match. Great comeback from 0-3 down. Now to finish it off.

But Ana breaks Anna  . . . 5-5

Given their rankings and potential AO place at stake, the JoKo v Heather match would be huge if they both make it that far.

Lets be confident and say they will. A month ago JoKo would have been the favourite but now maybe Hev. Certainly Judy who is there this week will be looking on with interest as it will help her Fed Cup wise. Hev for me remains our number 2, but Jo is certainly snapping at her heels.
