Ah saves another MP but can't save the 4th. To be fair from what I saw from 5-2 up her opponent just played better

Well, that was one of the most frustrating matches I've seen in a while . . .

Not to be:

SF:  Marta Sirotkina (RUS) WR 171 defeated (4) Joanna Konta WR 115 by 3-6 7-6(7) 7-6(5) bleh

What a pity Jo was unable to convert the match point she had in the second-set tie-break. cry

To be fair, the Russian played a good TB. Should have won at 5-2 up in set though.

Enjoy your off season Johanna, see your sister, recharge, it's been a good year.

2014 we'll have at least 3 in the top 100 WTA for much of the year I'm sure.

Shame JoKo struggles to close. Shouldn't have lost that one. Tough.

That really was one that got away

Sasnovich is a set and 4-0 up against Kichenok in Nantes - Jo would probably have been WR 100 on Monday she had won Barnstaple and Kichenok had failed to win Nantes.

Nevertheless, a very good season from Jo - her form in Canada before the US Open and the way she recovered from the disappointment of losing in qualifying at the USO when she had so many points to defend to have a good autumn have been particular highlights

What a chance she had this weekend though

At least one finalist for Team GB in the doubles:

SF:  (4) Naomi Broady & Kristyna Pliskova (CZE) WR 256 (163+93) defeated (1) Eva Birnerova & Renata Voracova (CZE/CZE) CR 179 (96+83) by 4 & 5 biggrin

Nice to see Heather looking better. Frankly, the level of tennis from all four players on the court is pretty poor but it's close and doesn't really matter that much so hopefully the British girls are enjoying themselves (and the other two too of course).

No go for Hev and Joko, only caught the end, but they did look like a makeshift pairing.

Saw the first two sets of Joko's semi and she dominated the first set, but the Russian cut out the errors and was the better player in the second set.
