It seems like 6-4 is the popular score for the Brits today. Josh M wins the first set.

Yet another 6-4 set but this time it goes to Carston Ball.

Josh M into a deciding set.

We really should have a Brit get through in the top section.

None of them are in any sort of form so it's a very tricky one to guess. I would even fancy George at this stage, who has done ok lately.

well, Dave made the final last week so that's not too shabby (even if it was just a 10k).

But agree about George - seems to have found his stride and Ed is certainly not on great form.

Looking at it from a 20 in the top 500 perspective, (yes, that old chestnut again) 5 points for Dan would see him safely in the end of year top 500 with 71 YTD points. But if Josh M could get through and then win a round in the MD, that would give him a real boost up the charts as well.

Mixed bag for the qualifiers:

Two slots against seeds - Donald Young (WR 104) and Rhyne Williams (WR 125)

Two against non-seeds : Tennys Sandgren (WR 249) and Jose Hernandez (WR 332)
