Hardly surprising that someone playing Agar winds up in a sticky situation, is it? Or that his own new partnership simply couldn't gel in comparison? (sorry)

The Gooch has withdrawn from his second round match, so Bumpei Sato is through to the quarter finals. If Klein can find a way to beat Jordan Thomson, he'll have a great chance of winning another round, at the very least.
Brydan certainly seems to have been given a handy opportunity to pick up a lot of points this week and has needed something like this to turn up in order not to drop even further by the year-end, with 25 points still to defend in November and December.
It's going to be tough to get past Thompson though, who looks to be a fair bit under-ranked at 324, in the sense that he is only 19, 324 is a career high and his point-scoring abilities have been accelerating fast - almost half of his ranking points have been picked up in the last 6 weeks.

He came a cropper in the doubles, though :
QF: Ryan Agar & Adam Feeney (AUS/AUS) CR 607 (311+296) defeated (4) Brydan Klein & Danai Udomchoke (THA) CR 373 (138+237) by 7-6(8) 6-4
I'd quite like to see Brydan's partner in opposition to Mr Inglot, just to see if Dom got in any way distracted by repetition of the guy's name ( well, how I'm saying it anyway ! ), particularly if it got pretty tight. ( not sorry )
And he wins the set 7-5! This is probably his best win since he beat Zhyrmont at the Nottingham Challenger, and that tells you more about what sort of form has been (was?) in.
Calvin is much better than Sato, so he'll rarely get an easier route to a Challenger semi.

I agree. It would have to have one of the more enthusiastic umpires though, maybe Mohammed Leyani or Steve Ulrich, they always seem to really relish giving out the score!

This win will take Klein to around 369 in the rankings. Another win will actually see him become the British no. 6, and have just 1 fewer point than Corrie.
I think he should drop the "Bry" from his first name. That'll certainly make things more simple for people on this messageboard.

Good one, Salmon - Oh yes, that's all we need . . .
Well, if Mr Klein is going to wear the British jersey, it's good that he wins a few matches (which he hasn't up to date). So pleased to see the result . . .
