to be played:
Joe SALISBURY (GBR) [2] v David ZIMMERMAN (GER)
A lone Brit in the doubles this week, but in theory in with a chance:
R1: Cédric de Zutter (BEL) & Joe Salisbury CR 2052 (936+1116) vs Philip Bester & Kamil Pajkowski (CAN/CAN) UNR
I think that David Fox has got a place too, playing with Vlad Victor Cornea (now THERE'S a name . .. ) but are coming up directly against the number one seeds.

You're quite right, CD: completely missed it!
R1: (1) Romain Arneodo & Benjamin Balleret (FRA/MON) CR 725 (423+302) vs Vlad Victor Cornea ( - definitely a name with which to conjure. There has to be a joke in there somewhere...) (ROU) & David Fox CR 2430 (902+1528)
Another British player putting in a very decent score against someone vastly higher ranked.
I do hope Joe is seriously thinking of turning pro when he graduates - he showed a lot of potential here in the couple of summer tournaments he played.

Now he's serving for the 2nd set! He's had 13 break points to HPC's 3 - they've taken 2 each.

Pity but a good effort ... and kind of makes you wish he'd got Stuart's draw, given that he has just lost the 1st set 6-1 to Farren.
Yeah, exactly. This is the problem when you only do one tournament here or there - not that it's his fault, obviously, he's got commitments - but you're really at the whim of the one draw.
And I think I'm wrong - he's not playing next week, which is a shame.
But as long as he keeps playing and training at college, he'll be around in the future, if he wants to be . .. .
