Brydan lost the 1st set 6-3 and had advantage on his own serve in the 1st game of the 2nd set when play was suspended for rain.

This is actually his first (ATP-ranked) match back in Australia since he switched (since February in fact) - I wonder if the Aussies are 'innocently' asking him how he has got on since he switched.

"Well I've virtually halved my ranking points and gone from inside the top 250 to outside the top 400, but other than that, it's going great" (ouch)

Maybe he'll find some form now he's back down under. Well, maybe after the rain goes away.

Of course, his doubles has been going pretty well since he switched. Maybe that's what getting GBR after your name does to you ...

Calvin's match has been postponed, and tomorrow's OOP is up - http://www.atpworldtour.com/posting/2013/6863/op.pdf

Unfortunately Wardy is playing on Court 10, so let's hope that they'll change their streamed courts tomorrow!

An absolutely storming performance from Maverick Banes, who I have never heard of before today. The world ranked 838  twenty one year old makes it though qualifying and takes out the world 115 Stephane Robert in the first round!

Well that's definitely the way to avenge that Vancouver loss!

L32: (8) James Ward WR 183 beat Greg Jones (AUS) WR 225 (CH 179 in 2010) by 4 & 0

L16: (8) James Ward WR 183 v Andrew Whittington (AUS) WR 432 (CH 419 this month)

Like Jones, Whittington has won an Aussie 15K Futures event in the last few weeks.

Well, talk about a convincing win! That's just Dino's 2nd win since his strong US Open qualies show, so he must be relieved to start playing well again.

And thanks for the stream link, DWH! Unfortunately I ignored the alarm and continued sleeping, but it looks like I'll get more opportunities to watch Wardy this week.

Does that smiley icon suggest that you are laughing at your own jokes?! wink

Surely some kind of penalty for that kind of behaviour. It's got to be stamped out!

Nice for James to get what looks like a comfortable win, early on. Yup hopefully more to come and so lots more to watch.

Probably Priesty was just making sure everyone, including the sense-of-humour challenged, knew that it was.
