Big, big win for Luke as he sayes BP and serves out the match to win 6-4 and dump out the top seed.

Now if Liam can beat Djere in the QF, we will be guaranteed a GB finalist as in the top quarter. Luke will play Toby.

Why the long face, Steven?  Did you get the parenthesis the wrong way round? wink

Either that or I'm a secret Skripnik supporter LOL (corrected)

Ooooh, this is a really nice way to finish a tour which has been mildly disappointing (in terms of singles) so far.

Huge congrats to Luke - knew his moment would come - :)

Excellent news from Luke, about time this talented youngster put some results together. Another with potential to easily break into top 500.

Well done to Mr Bambridge. And to Messrs Broady and Martin as well, though their victories were not quite so spectacular in terms of opponents' rankings.

It's very tight 2-2 in the third set - do you think Liam is sitting there, going, that's right, lads, tire yourselves out, why don't you . . ..

Certainly hope not! He hasn't played his QF yet, so he'd be getting ahead of himself.

Now Luke at *5-6 final set, having had 15-40 in the last game. This is where, if you have a tendancy to play safe, it could kick in. Go for it, Mr B.

Edit: and a hold to love....very nicely done.

And we will have GB representation in the final as Liam secures his semi final match up with Toby.

Hopefully more than that, surely!

My slight question mark is the possible lack of self-belief he seems to show in interviews, with a slight air of disappointment in his own achievements, combined with a wonderful friendliness and team orientation (obviously a great thing from a human being point of view, but perhaps not so much when striving to be top dog in a gladitorial winner-takes-all sport). Just wonder whether he might play it safe at crucial moments in matches, rather than going all out. We'll see in a few years time.

Luke lost the first set by dropping serve, serving to take the set into a TB.
