And Josh is 2*-5 down which is more so, if it carries on like that.
Supposedly, Scott wasn't feeling too well today (though not THAT bad, presumably, if he took out a seed 7-5 in the third) - maybe they've got food bugs going round or something . . . or, more simply, just didn't/aren't playing well ? (Evan and JWH, I mean, not Scott of course).
Yes. Very. I think, at least to some extent, Evan (and to a lesser extent, Luke) has benefitted within the LTA from being part of the Junior GB team which won the Davis Cup a couple of years back. Hence full funding under Team Aegon ahead of others who arguably had similar cases. Kyle very much carried that Junior DC team, although the other 2 boys contributed with a few wins along the way.
Would be good to see something more from Evan and Luke sometime soon.
L32: Toby Martin WR 1038 def. Or Ram-Harel (ISR) WR 854 (CH 838 in Jun) - H2H 1-0, 6 & 0, Ashkelon 2012 6-1 6-2
Another nice victory this morning, like scott, taking out someone a lot higher ranked.
CD, according to the results section, Toby defeated a 16-year-old lucky loser called Shahar Elbaz (WR 1803 - CH 1594 in June), so more like an expected victory!

Oh Lord. I saw Evan's LL but didn't see Toby's at all and it must have been staring me in the face.
As you say, not such a sweet victory but I guess at least Toby took advantage of it which is more than Evan did !
Given that's (at least) two more drop-outs (and the news re Scott, and Liam and Jonny in the last couple of weeks) I'm wonder more and more if there is a food bug problem. ALthough that may be completely off mark . . .

I've noticed at least one more: the fourth seed, Botzer, defeated a lucky loser called Oran Reznik!

I would bet a reasonable sum of cashew nuts that it's a gastro bug or (less likely) food poisoning related to the hotel which the players are staying in. It couldalso explain the Evan and JWH performances (I empahsise could, because the most likely explanation is simply played badly/opponent played well), because they were a little odd.
Oh dear. Toby and Scott need to be careful what they eat. Recent winners of all GB ties are not showing a good trend.
Week 1 Israel : Jonny O'Mara beats Liam - then retires ill.
Week 2 Israel : Liam beats JWH - then withdraws through illness
Week 3 Israel : Toby plays Scott - watch this space.
Given the number of LLs flying around as well, I think we have to at least consider the possibility of an tournament wide pandemic of some kind.
