I remember seeing Chrissy McHale play as a 13 year-old. Haven't seen her much on TV since but the bit that I have seen seems to show that she's still very much the same and, actually, very similar to Heather - a smaller player, very serious, very athletic . . . should be interesting . . . she's had a very mixed last 6 months.
Very similar players, and both recently drop down ranking...... to me, 50/50 match
Only Brit interest tomorrow is Hev in the doubles in the afternoon. She is partnering Vesna Dolonc. Nicky and Mel are also in doubles with tough draw against Pliskova sisters.
Oh no, I've been unfair to the French (I blame Sim, obviously ) - I've just looked at the OoP again and I can't see any R2 matches scheduled (not in singles, anyway)

Just started watching and Heather seems to be playing quite well - but I've only seen the last two games which she has one to go to 2-6 2-1
Hev looks to be in complete control atm 2-6 4-1. Either McHale has started playing a lot worse or Heather must have been terrible in the first set, because McHale is missing a lot of shots right now.

Fantastic win, especially given the way this year has gone and her history against McHale (those two agonising 3-set losses on clay in 2011 after, as here, coming from a set down)
L32: Heather Watson WR 133 beat (6) Christina McHale (USA) WR 69 (CH 24 in 2012) by 2-6 7-5 6-4
L16: Heather Watson WR 133 v Lucie Hradecka (CZE) WR 156 (CH 41 in 2011)
H2H 1-1 - Hradecka won in 3 sets in Monterrey in 2011, Heather won 4 & 4 in Estoril last year.
