Heather certainly has regained some form this week, and she will be feeling good after closing out two tight third sets.
Still searching for a bit more consistency though, her level was quite up and down yesterday and judging by the scoreline was probably similar today. In fact it's becoming irrelevant how the first set goes in Hev's matches these days.
She would probably need to win here to ensure AO direct entry, but more likely is a combination of points from this week and next week. Her worst two scores are 15 & 20, so she would need c. 140 points in the two events to get to WR110.
Gutting for JoKo, especially given the comments that I have read. That FH can be an achilles heel, it does have a slight hitch to it, so can break down under pressure and when out of form. Serve is also key to her game.
Great to see Hev win again especially in 3 sets, Hradecka like McHale struggling a little bit, will be fascinating to see the QF, and see whether she is playing an in form player, and then guage better her form.
Arvidsson is a former top 30 player (CH 29 in 2006) and the H2H is 1-1 - Hev won 5 & 3 in Québec City in 2011 but lost 2 & 3 in Memphis last year.
It seems like Alison Riske was an exception in this tournament, and most players are like Heather or her next opponent Arvidsson , players with a ranking well below their career high and looking to claw back some end of season ranking points.
