Ohh, okay. Then why did Farquharson need a wild card for this week's qualies, by the way? (Although that's an ITF event and this is an ATP event, so the rules may vary).

Because there are qualifying entry lists for futures but not for challengers.

Heh, makes sense. Cheers!

He's 23, for God's sake! disbelief  What's that, if not still (relatively) young? confuse

RJA, did you mean "under ATP rules players do NOT need to be physically present.." ?

Hahaha, I'm really confused now! And I don't know if I should want Dave to lose his dubs or not? Nah, a good opportunity to troll apart... Dave doesn't seem to mind doubles much (unlike say, Coxy or Evo - and Evo was a fantastic doubles player when he was young), and he'll probably not make a living out of singles.

And Evo out of Korea... what!

There's no need to feel old, I was talking in terms of "tennis years". Evo is younger than I am, and if he were a "regular" person, he'd probably just have begun working.

But (singles) tennis is for the younger lot, and less than 15% of people in the top 250* are 32+. In the overall working population, I suppose an overwhelming majority of the employees would be older than 32 (higher proportion in the UK than in developing nations).

Taking all this into account, I'd say Evo is fast approaching middle age**, if not already there. Although different people can have different definitions of "middle age", so I'm happy to accept alternate views.

* I chose 250 as an approximate break-even point between making a living out of tennis and not doing so. If I were to take all the ATP ranked players, less than 5% of them are 32+.
** In my opinion, for tennis players... Youth: ~ to 25; Middle Age: 25 to 32; Old Age: 32 to ~. Most Tour players probably peak around 25, and retire around 32.

Great news if Kyle's possible "GF" was only a rumour without any foundation.

Wonder if Evo's under the weather/injured? Didn't someone say that he said he was feeling "heavy" when he lost earlier this week?

Not sure where you got the "on holiday" part but am really hoping you are right about that. Big sighs of relief all round.

You are definitely right about the training block with Murray in Miami - at least that was the plan.

As others have done on here, I read that as "Girl Friend" disbelief

People regularly confusing your glandular fever for "girl friend"?

Still a better love story than Twilight.

he uploaded pictures all over instagram yesterday, was in SA , and also was at the Dubai grand prix yesterday. There was also a picture of him on a dirt bike all geared up, hardly the actions of someone with GF don't you think
