RE: Week 42 - Great Britain F21 ($10,000) - Loughborough (Hard)

None of these matches proving straight-forward . . but George manages to close out his match 6-3 7-6 and Dave looks on track to win in two.

The all conquering Myles is no longer having been despatched by George 6-3 7-6

Ricey is about to win against the useful Daniell. Dave should cruise through to the final as the draw has really opened up for him

Shame about Ash withdrawing, top half only has Harry and Josh left as GB interest and there is some useful foreign talent remaining

Whoever wins the Harry - Barry match could easily make the semi's, the winner will play the qualifier Lomaki in the QF's.

This was his tweet from yesterday.

Harry Meehan ‏@HarryMeehan 21h

In my match today I made 44/47 returns. Which may well be more than all of last year combined

Maybe it's Josh who's helped ? Maybe it's just 'clicked' into place ? He's very young, still only 18. He's barely really had a 'career' so far. All ahead of him . . .

Certainly far too young to be prioritising doubles, while still developing in singles !

For Harry to have a serve as good as that so young is a really exciting prospect. 2 years ago he knocked down 18 aces against Marsalek in a straight sets loss. At 16 that is a ridiculous number to be hitting... fingers crossed for a bright future for him!

Lewis a break up against Rob Carter. It would be nice for Lewis if he found a bit of singles form - it's been OK so far but nothing really to write home about . .. (That said, I'm a big Rob Carter fan too . .. )

Barry currently winning the Barry & Harry contest. 2-0* up in the third

Still no specific news re ash ?

Although Lewis won the first set 6-4, Rob Carter feeds him a bagel in the 2nd set.

Into a decider then.

And "When Harry met Sammy" is turning into an epic. 4-4 in the 3rd.

Wonder if Josh G has been warming up for his match.

Or is he courtside with Harry, shouting his head off ?

(Lewis and Rob into the third)

Sadly he needed a few more and loses 7-5 in the 3rd.

Rob Carter finally sees off Lewis 4-6 6-0 6-3

He will play George C in the QF and whoever wins that will see a 100+ rankings rise and a CH into the bargain.

Should be a good match.
