And the good news is that most of those in the 300-400 range are all moving in the right direction. Exciting times ahead.
Let me explain my definition of late bloomer - a player that breaks into the top 100 later than age 24 ( the average age of entry ) some players break into top 100 late at 28+ ( Average age of top 100 is 28 )
I think that Marcus & DR could break into top100 late partly due to earlier set backs its a matter of perservence , funding ,
Could this thread be the Bob Beamon of futures threads ?
Where Beamon jumped over 29 feet, totally bypassing 28 feet odd, so will this thread not bother setting a record of 300 odd replies, but go to over 400 ??
Yet like many athletic records, it will be a record that for evermore will always have an asterik beside it.
Looking forward to whenever the LTA finally pays more than lip service to such age vs ranking stats, and starts giving much more appropriate backing to these really making a breakthrough quite well into their 20s.

Congratulations to Davo on making the final. If he wins tomorrow, he will overtake Willis in the controversial Race to Year End British No. 5 table.
I might be wrong, but looking at the excel sheet we were discussing in the Sunderland thread I think Dave & Sean now hold the all-time record for futures titles for a single pair. Might be worth checking with ITF?
I've taken out tonight's latest batch of school playground posts plus one or two that weren't too bad but had nothing to do with tennis and made no sense with the playground posts taken out.
Those still determined to prove how 'ard they are might like to take it outside - by which I mean, outside the forum.

I've asked them - they actually tweeted earlier "Brits @daverice2k7 & @seanthornley31 win an 18th doubles title together from 29 ITF Pro Circuit finals with victory in Loughborough" (which seems to conflict with Sean's "Got the win and our 19th title together against the Griekspoor twins in Loughborough #LMAO instagram.com/p/fnOIzTveyd/" but only because he's including their Challenger title and ITF just their own events, i.e. Futures), so that was a good lead in to asking the question.
I'm assuming there's a chance they can check more quickly and definitively than we could.

I don;t know if it was ever reported on here (and I'm NOT going looking !) but Ash's withdrawal was due to illness and not injury, which usually is good news.

I see he's down to try some challengers, hope he can make them. A good way to end the year to see where he is as he's made such progress this year at futures level.

Yes, team Bolton say he's off to Asia at the end of next week so, hopefully, it all sounds good.
Quite right Steven. Just logged on for the first time in a while (I've tragically been without internet access!) and thought for a moment from all the tit-for-tat and keyboard warfare I was back on the Boggo forum at it's worst! We're all here because we love tennis and support (whether it be financially or just verbally) British tennis players. Let's stick to the tennis and hope Dave can go one further and win this week.
