RE: Week 42 - Israel F14 ($10,000) - Ramat Hasharon (Hard)

Jonny unfortunately loses 6-1 6-2.

But at least his win yesterday should take him into the top 1000 for the 1st time which is always a nice milestone.

Luke had BP for 4-4 but Schmid held on.

Luke to serve at *3-5

Hang in there Luke, This is still doable.

Unfortunately Schmid prevails against Luke, and wins 7-5 4-6 6-3

But a more than creditable performance by Luke against an inform opponent.

QF: (4) Liam Broady WR 569 v (7) Josh Ward-Hibbert WR 695

Believe it or not, these two have avoided playing each other in singles at any ITF junior or ATP-ranked events until now, despite playing in the same tournaments so often!

I'm sure the Skupskis would argue this, but best futures doubles pairing might not be too far off.

They will be fed up of the sight of each other tomorrow, singles against each other and then doubles together.

GB battle underway. Liam went up an early break but JWH broke back.

2-1*

Edit: The pendulum swings the other way. JWH levels and goes a break up but Liam breaks back and holds.

4-3*

The initiative once again goes to Liam as he breaks and will try to serve out the set.

*5-3

Edit: Which he does to love

6-3... advantage Broady

Josh saves two but not the third.

Liam comes through 6-3 6-1

Thought that might be a bit closer. Congrats to Liam.

Liam edging closer to getting inside the top 500 - just a matter of time before he is there.
