RE: Week 42 - Israel F14 ($10,000) - Ramat Hasharon (Hard)

Home from home ? This is almost like a home 10k with 7 Brits in the MD.

Congrats to Evan and Scott for making it through qualies.

The draw looks pretty good apart from poor Evan who gets Schmid (seeded 2) for the second week running and Scott with Djere:

R1:

Scott Clayton WR 1453 v (5) Laslo Djere (SRB) WR 612 CH 556
(4) Liam Broady WR 568 v (Q) Lance Cohen (RSA) UNR
(7) Joshua Ward-Hibbert WR 694 v (WC) David Mushayev (ISR) UNR
Jonny O'Mara WR 1043 v Daniel Skripnik (ISR) WR 1763 CH 1224 (2012)
Toby Martin WR 1036 v Alon Elia (ISR) WR 1258
Luke Bambridge WR 880 v (Q) Daniel Dudockin (ISR) UNR
Evan Hoyt WR 1379 v (2) Michal Schmid (CZE) WR 497 CH 385

Quite remarkable really that given 7 players in the draw, they have all managed to avoid each other.

Liam is first up on Monday at 11.00am local time, but he is the only player in singles action.

However, all 7 are in doubles action tomorrow.

We need DHW on the case again to track down a livescore feed !

Assuming Jonny is recovered from his virus, there's a great chance of getting 5 out of 7 through the singles. Good doubles table too - Liam/JWH didn't even get a first round bye !!!

With 7 players, including 2 seeds, in the draw, I make it roughly about 2/1 against all 7 avoiding each other in R1.

So it was odds against, but not particularly high.

The women though seem to be making a grand job of being drawn against each other recently !

Given that he is playing a certain L Cohen, it must be tempting to sing Hallelujah to rub it in wink ... (or, um, maybe not!)

L32: (4) Liam Broady WR 569 beat (Q) Lance Cohen (RSA) UNR by 1 & 4

L16: (4) Liam Broady WR 569 v (Q) Ben Fatael (ISR) UNR (16yo top 300 junior, beat WR 944 today)

The others play R1 singles tomorrow, I assume. Updating their rankings too:

L32: (Q) Scott Clayton WR 1459 v (5) Laslo Djere (SRB) WR 614 (CH 556 in Sep, junior WR 7 / CH 3)
L32: (7) Joshua Ward-Hibbert WR 695 v (WC) David Mushayev (ISR) UNR (CH 1441 in 2012)
L32: Jonny O'Mara WR 1047 v (WC) Daniel Skripnik (ISR) WR 2138 (CH 1065 in 2012)
L32: Toby Martin WR 1038 v Alon Elia (ISR) WR 1263 (CH 1250 in Sep)
L32: Luke Bambridge WR 884 v (Q) Daniel Dudockin (ISR) UNR (16-year-old)
L32: (Q) Evan Hoyt WR 1389 v (2) Michal Schmid (CZE) WR 502 (CH 385 in Aug)

JWH's H2H 2-0, both straight sets, juniors 2009 & R2 last week

Elia got thrashed 1 & 0 by Richard Gabb in Turkey last month

Evan's H2H 0-1, 2 & 4, last week

Given that the link that DWH found for us last week says Akko and Ramat Hasharon 2013, I am hopeful that the same link will work for this week.

Fantastically clear scoreboard.  Give the developer of that one a bonus!

Solid win for Liam and good news to wake up to.

Looks like he will need to be at his best in the next round though otherwise it could be Fatael.
