Ouch. Double fault in the tiebreak to bring up 2 set points for Mirnyi/Tecau... though as I type it didn't hurt them. They save two set points and have one of their own.. which also gets saved 7-7, now 8-7 set point number two this time on their opponents serve.
Which they take! Nice! First set Skupskis 7-6(7)

Despite the dangers evident from the Russians' win today, getting Baluda & Kravchuk for a place in your first ATP Final together (and probably a place in the top 100 for Neal, if he isn't quite there already) is something you'd take if it was offered to you!

No, not quite: 114th this week, up three places from last week.
Just for the record, there isn't a single seeded pair left in the draw!

Just noticed that the 17 year old Russian who beat Janko Tipsarevic has not won a main draw futures or challenger match and now has 3 tour level wins and a first Atp QF does anyone know the record for the number Tour wins without a win in futures or the old satellite circuit
Was going to post they had the ideal start to the second set by going an early break up... step away from the screen only to come back and find they're a double break up having just broken to love. Not bad at all.

QF: (1) Max Mirnyi & Horia Tecau (BLR/ROU) CR 52 lost to Ken Skupski & Neal Skupski CR 198 6-7(7) 1-6.
Outstanding! When I've had the pleasure of watching them live, the boys have been as keen as mustard and as grilled as a 8oz steak! I really think within 12 months they will each be ranked close to the very best we have in Britain, perhaps even top of the pile, and we are blessed with some very handy players indeed! Exciting times in doubles at least, even if the GB men's singles scene is very much a "work in progress".
Fabulous, if somewhat unexpected, result to come in to after an external meeting! Really pleased for the boys. 90 points guaranteed. Onwards & upwards!
