@melaniesouth and I sneak into dubs here in Luxembourg thanks to a 2nd WC not given out. Phew! And our opponents....#britmagnets
Strange that they have ended up in line 3 with the other Brit interest in line 4 for the 2nd week in a row. Dabrowski reached the doubles Final in Linz this week.

Can't see Heather winning unfortunately. Could really be the start of a turnaround if she could pull it off though. A win or two here would be a nice way to end the year and give her a boost and make all that hard work in the offseason a little easier.

Jeremy actually had an absolutely dreadful record with Anne during his time as her coach, although how much of that was outwith his control is perhaps up for debate. Not convinced he will be of much benefit to Heather in the long run.

Big ace from Wickmayer at deuce there after two poor points had brought Hev back to deuce and in touching distance of the set.
*5-5
Saves two break points to get back to deuce, and a couple more good serves help her out
6-5*
Super pass gets her to 30-30, horrible forehand from Wickmayer gives Hev a set point, and somehow, Hev has taken this to a decider!!
If Wickmayer continues on this trajectory, we could have another bagel set. Hev has lifted her game slightly, cut out some of the more riduclous errors, and is reaping the rewards by making a few more returns and steading herself to attack a reasonable ball.
In the first set she tried to outhit Wickmayer from the back and came off a very distant second, she's thinking a bit more clearly now. C'mon girl.

Unfortunately the second set was more of a blip from Wickmayer than anything else, Heather really didn't play all that well at any stage. She got her best success when Yanina got very tight in the second set and she started making a few more balls and constructing the points better (trading backhands then going up the line), but Wickmayer dropped off horribly and starting making a ton of errors.
Yanina got a bit lucky with some high risk shots paying off in the first game of the decider to break Heather from 30-0, but after that she really did cruise through. Had Heather somehow been able to get an advantage early on I do think Yanina would have imploded but that's just how tennis goes.
Heather looks tired, and a bit thin to me. Needs a week or so off then to hit the off-season hard. I don't see much point in slogging it down in some challengers (she's schedule for Poitiers and Barnstaple), she's not going to make the Oz Open main draw and if her confidence is shot losing to players ranked 150+ isn't going to help much. I guess on the other hand she might grind out a few wins and it could be what she needs to find her mojo again. Tough call.

Not watching it, so can't comment on the tennis. However, while I wasn't really expecting a win, I did expect a much more competitive looking scoreline.
Not, of course, that it's by any means all over. C'mon, Hev !
