Well that's pleasing to hear ! Lots of Rob Carter fans here (me included). And shot selection is mostly about experience and can be learnt. All sounds promising . . . .
Guys, is the vowel in Alexander Jhun's last name the same as the one in "fun", or the one in "put"? Or maybe the one in "moon"?
And out of interest, what is his ancestry, I wonder? By my fairly limited knowledge, the combination JH is fairly unique and absent from most major European languages*, but is very common in the languages of the Indian subcontinent (where it denotes an aspirated form of J). Jhun doesn't seem to look like a person with subcontinental ancestry, so I'm curious about the source of his fantastic last name.
* I'm fairly sure such cases simply document nonconformist spelling, without a change in pronunciation.
It looks like it's a South Asian / Pacific Islands name (e.g. Philippines / Malaysia / Hawaii) - I've always assumed it is pronounced like the month of June, but I wouldn't be surprised if that's wrong!

If we say that 68 points is enough to be in the top 500 at the end of 2013, 14 players (including Josh Goodall) have achieved this so we need 6 more to reach 20.
Within 15 points are: Neil P Boggo Jamie B Dan S
Jamie Baker has retired so we need 3 other players to get to 20 at the end of 2013. Doesn't seem likely.

Trust me. I have been following this situation very closely and have come up with almost the same conclusion.
Except that Josh G still has 3 points to come off this year and so will would currently end at 66 points for the year. However, he obviously has tomorrow's SF and is also playing next week. Maybe you did the same calculation that I originally did and added today's points 6 to the 62 in Steven's YTD column. If so, you need to remember that the 62 already includes the 2 for this weeks QF so today's win only adds another 4 points.
At the moment 66 is (maybe) enough to be in the top 500. I am hoping for a swift recovery from Oli G, a late run from Liam B and a fairwell tribute QF performance from Jamie B (I wish!). Maybe Josh M will win the 15k he is playing in and that would bring his YTD points up to 62 points. But without being disrespectful let's just say that current form is not on his side at the moment.
There are a number of people / things to blame for the epic but looking ultimately failed attempt to get 20 into the top 500.
Jamie Baker, for being so inconsiderate to retire with just 65 points for the year, Sloane Stephens, Oli's hernias, players losing tennis matches, and potentially Boggo not playing tennis matches.

Sloane may also be partly responsible for us not having any women in the top 50 at the end of the year as well (thanks to her 2 wins v Laura in Australia at the start of 2013) - she's pure evil (not!)
I'm not sure about this "players losing tennis matches" thing though, it sounds far too much like something that might actually be vaguely under their control ...

I blame the balls.
If the balls would just have screeched to a halt and dropped vertically onto the line when the Brits hit them and grown wings and flapped a bit and gone out when the non-Brits hit them, we wouldn't be in this mess !
Looks like Josh G is pretty much favourite to win.
The favourite I'd agree but Ashley Hewitt has made such big strides this year I'm wondering if his game dosen't peak for the final? That said, both semi's look tough so an all Brit final would be a result in itself.
