i agree spectator but I wonder is it worth finishing the season out together and then Jonny having very little time to gel before the Aussie open. Although the have done reasonably well you do get the feeling the could do better and the chemistry that Colin and Ross had or even Jonny and Freddie is just not the same. I have wondered many time if Colin would have been better off with Rohan Boppana when he was avalible shortly after they won in marseile together which would have allowed jonny to find a permanent partner
Freddie didn't want to be permanent with Jonny to work on his singles, which has gone down not up (318>587) . His dubs ranking is now 43 - the lowest it's been since they won Wimby.
Of all tyrannies a tyranny exercised for the good of its victim may be the most oppressive.... those who torment us for our own good will torment us without end for they do so with the approval of their own conscience
A couple of excellent results to see when I was finally to log on this morning. Well done to Dom & TCH & Jamie & John. Commiserations to Colin & Jonny.
A round-up to get them all one one page:
R2: Dominic Inglot & Treat Huey (PHI) CR 57 defeated (6) Rohan Bopanna & Edouard Roger-Vasselin (IND/FRA) CR 26 by 7-6(4) 5-7 [10-6] (sweet revenge for the defeat in Tokyo last week! ) R2: Jamie Murray & John Peers (AUS) CR 66 vs (7) Julian Benneteau & Nenad Zimonjic (FRA/SRB) CR 37 by 4 & 2 R2: (2) Marcel Granollers & Marc López (ESP/ESP) CR 17 defeated Colin Fleming & Jonny Marray CR 49 by 2 & 4
*****
QF: Bob Bryan & Mike Bryan (USA/USA) WR 1 vs Dominic Inglot & Treat Huey (PHI) CR 57 QF: Jamie Murray & John Peers (AUS) CR 66 vs Robert Lindstedt & Vasek Pospisil (SWE/CAN) CR 131
The Bryans are by no means invincible now, but it's still going to be tough for Dom & TCH, while the Lindstedt/Pospisil combination will prove a real handful for Jamie & John. Pospisil seems to have pushed on convincingly & consistently since his victory over Evo in the Vancouver Challenger in July in a way that the latter just doesn't seem to have been able to manage.
Both winning pairs move up a place in the Race - Jamie & John to 11th, Dom & Treat to 13th (up 2 this week) - they could all do with Marrero and Verdasco (in-running 8th) losing to Fognini and Seppi later.
