Lucy was a break down in a flash but suddenly reeled off 7 (SEVEN) games in a row and it's now 6-3 1-0*

Nice to see Lucy putting a few wins together. About time.

Top seed in the semi, but the Spaniard lost to Lee last week and EWS in Shrewsbury so not as bad as it looks.

I'd say that losing the first 3 games and then winning 12 of the last 13 against WR 455 looks rather impressive.

I thought that early in the year Lucy was playing fairly well, but not getting much rub of the green and the ranking points she probably deserved. Then she did seem to lose a bit of form ( confidence ? ) for a while. So this is good to see.

May Lucy take care if she ventures past WR 600 though. That vast wilderness in the 500s, 400s and indeed most of the 300s, is a cold, uninviting place for British women, the only woman currently being seen in there is Emily.

I suggest that Lucy steels herself and makes strides to go deep into this wilderness, indeed to reach in time a place she has never reached before, and move towards that beacon that Emily holds in the lower 400s. For if one woman enters into this vast landscape and survives, maybe more will follow in time.
