Are you paying more attention to Willis right now?

Due to A1's relentless spamming, do you find a relatively greater amount of your mental bandwidth being occupied by the progress of Marcus Willis? Irrespective of whether you want Marcus to succeed or fail, is he a more prominent British tennis player now? Are we all lab rats in a social experiment by Gary Lewis?

I voted yes. I basically said something similar a few days ago, that I bet you, like it or not, many people have been much more aware of Marcus / paying more attention to him of late for some reason.

No, I was already paying plenty of attention to Marcus's rise up the rankings this year, and he's good fun on Twitter!

However, every time I see him win a doubles match, I find myself thinking 'oh no, that'll set Garry off on one again' no when I should just be pleased for Marcus, who has now won 19 of last 20 doubles matches (16 of the last 17 with Lewis), which even given the vagaries of Futures doubles (i.e. outside the UK in particular, I'm not sure how many of the other players care) is a significant achievement

I am watching for Marcus's results more now but that's because he's doing so well. The same applies to Richard Gabb at the moment or Tom F, Ed Corrie etc when they've been through their good spells. Also with Marcus/Lewis, they've stated they'd like to make the doubles at next years Wimbledon and it instantly gets my attention as you watch for their progress on that journey.

I'm liking the fact that Steven spells Gary with double "r" when in thinking mode. biggrin
