Definitely an all-time-great thread ... best never to win a Slam?

What does this have to do with cats please? Don't go off topic

CD. Sorry I have to stick to tennis.

However the "junior female player" under discussion appears to be fit, well and hard at work honing her anticipation, hand-eye coordination and footwork skills on the practice court. Her coach told me that once she had taken an illegal mid-final set toilet break in yesterday's match - a break that seemed to go on for an eternity (having failed to do so as is customary after the first or second sets), her form miraculously turned around, she took on extra energy supplies and victory was hers.

I have said many times before that the ITF has to so something about this kind of behaviour. Disgraceful!

Didn't realise he was 31, nearly 32. So realistically reaching the end of his singles career anyway.

The only spin i can put on in as he is ranked 231, it is another name that won't be playing Aussie Open qualifying making Dan Cox and Kyle Edmund's chances of making it slightly easier.

Yes, David reached his only Grand Slam final, his straight sets Wimbledon loss to Lleyton Hewitt, as far back as 2002.

By 2006 ( age 24 ) he had reached at least the SFs of all 4 Grand Slams.

At his best he was a mighty match player, competitive with the best.

Why you should never formally retire, just drift down and out . . .
