They did it!  Morale-booster duly achieved!  biggrin

SF:  (3) David Rice & Sean Thornley CR 514 defeated (1) James Cluskey & Vahid Mirzadeh (IRL/USA) CR 323 by 4-6 6-4 [10-6]

*****

Final:  (3) David Rice & Sean Thornley CR 514 vs Mathieu Rodrigues & Gleb Sakharov (FRA/FRA) CR 1677

On paper a golden opportunity, but the Frogs dumped out the second seeds in straight sets in the QF & the fourth seeds also in straight sets in the SF...

Dave and Sean's semi final underway. They really could do with a morale boost at the moment.

GREAT win for David and Sean. Very pleased for the two of them. (NB Are we allowed to say 'Frogs' nowadays ? isn't that verboten ?)

Well done to both of them - their 5th (and biggest) title of the year so far.

A couple of decent milestones reached:

- Sean's 20th ATP-ranked doubles title (18th with Dave, who has won 23 in total)

- the 50th ATP-ranked doubles title won by Brits this year (30 won by all-GB pairs, 20 by a Brit + a non-Brit) - 5 ATPs, 6 Challengers & 39 Futures

Usually you see the winners' photo with their trophies. But the lads seem to have won a what ? a coffee cup ? a salt shaker ? Must be French federation cut backs . . .
