RE: Week 40 - Germany F17 ($10,000) - Hambach (Carpet)

Well done Neil biggrin His 3rd Futures title and 2nd in a row here. Quite incredible how he did it - I wonder how many players have won a title having been a set down 4 times!

Really pleased to see Neil back to form. Many congrats.

He was originally down to play the next two weeks in Germany as well, but subsequently withdrew. I wonder if he is now regretting that decision.

He's still on the list for Leimen next week (at least, he is on the list on the ITF site)

Getting ahead of myself. It is the following two weeks that he has withdrawn from.

Excellent. Seemed to have served a lot of aces too.

So delighted for Neil. he's had a horrible season in 2013, having literally come from nowhere in 2012 and making tremendous strides.

Looking at the matches, it's clear he's not really been in any real form - but has almost willed himself to victory time and time again. By the final, he seems to have really found himself. He has lots of points to defend for the rest of the year, but I don;t care about that - just glad he's starting to play well again, and looking forward to a mini revival in October and November.

biggrin

Fantastic result from Neil - you could argue he didn't have to play the highest ranked players to get to the final but he has absolutely dominated Sikora (a very good player) in sets 2 and 3 right there.
